Privacy policy
In short: we collect only what we need to arrange a visit or a shift, we do not pass it on to anyone and we delete it after 12 months.
Who handles your data
Association “Telšių uodegėlė”, company code 304171069, Lūšinės g. 4, Lieplaukė, LT-87403, Telšių r. Phone +370 600 59446, email telsiu.uodegele@gmail.com.
What data we collect
When you book a visit or a volunteer shift:
- your name and phone number – so that we can confirm or change the time;
- your email address – only if you give it (we send a confirmation and a cancellation link);
- your message and the cat you chose – only if you give them;
- for volunteering – the ways to help you chose, whether this is your first time, and your age confirmation (18 or older, or coming with your parents);
- the time of booking and your IP address – only to protect against abuse (for example, hundreds of fake bookings).
What we use it for
Only to arrange the visit or shift: to confirm it, remind you and tell you about changes. For volunteers – also to recognise returning volunteers and know how many hours they have helped. We do not sell your data, pass it on to others or use it for advertising.
Legal basis
Your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by ticking the box in the booking form. You can withdraw your consent at any time – we will then cancel the booking and delete your data.
How long we keep it
12 months after the date of the visit or shift. Then your name, phone number, email and message are deleted automatically – only anonymised statistics remain (for example, how many visits took place).
Who sees your data
Only the shelter staff who sign in to the site’s administration system. The public part of the site shows only how many places are free – no names or phone numbers.
Your rights
You can ask us to show, correct or delete your data, restrict its use or withdraw your consent – call or write to us. You can also cancel a booking yourself with the personal link you receive when booking. If you believe your data is handled improperly, you can contact the State Data Protection Inspectorate of Lithuania (vdai.lrv.lt).
Visit counting
To know which pages are useful, we count visits – without cookies and without external tools. We store only daily totals: how many times each page was opened, how many different visitors there were, which websites they came from (the site name only) and from which countries. To tell visitors apart we use a one-day code calculated from part of the IP address and the browser name with a random key that changes every day. Neither the IP address nor the browser data is stored, and the codes are deleted at the end of the day – the next day it is no longer possible to recognise you. The basis is our legitimate interest in maintaining the site (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Cookies and third parties
The site does not use tracking, advertising or analytics cookies. The necessary session cookie is used only when staff sign in. Facebook posts are loaded only when you press the “Rodyti Facebook įrašus” or “Rodyti Facebook įrašą” (Show Facebook posts) button – only then can Facebook set its own cookies under its own rules. The “Open in maps” link opens Google Maps only when you click it.
